Grower & Winemaker's Notes

This fruit comes from a nearly 30 year-old vineyard at our “Home Ranch”. The vines are cane pruned which ensures a low yield of approximately 2.8 tons/acre. Unlike traditionally produced Gewürztraminers in North America, this wine was fermented to a bone-dry level. It was then racked off and introduced to malolactic bacteria and a subliminal amount of French oak.  It was polished filtered and bottled early in order to capture the fresh citrus profiles our 2003 Estate Dry Gewurzt offers.

Creamy mouthfeel, yet crisp lively flavors lingering on the finish, this inaugural attempt at dry Gewurzt was a success! 

We believe that Gewürztraminer is coming into its own with the North American palate.  We hope you'll explore the serious world of dry Gewurztraminer.
