Grower & Winemaker's Notes

This fruit comes from a 28 year-old vineyard off our “Home Ranch”. The vines are cane pruned which ensures a low lbs/vine ratio. Unlike “traditional” Gewürztraminers, this wine was fermented to bone-dry. It was then racked off and introduced to malolactic bacteria and a subliminal amount of French oak, lending the wine creamy, yet crisp, clean flavors. This wine pairs very well with any crab or seafood cake, lobster or crab bisque, and also taste great with a classic Caesar salad.

Tasting Notes

Different, dry and delicious, our 2004 Estate Gewurzt bursts onto the scene with fresh citrus aromas, a nice body and mouthfeel and a super clean and refreshingly dry finish.  As the wine warms in the glass, one notices a very slight, yet complexing creaminess from the ml and oak.
